Well I never...

Discovered the house phone has an answerphone (courtesy of BT). Also discovered a message from an employment agency from last week. Will ring in the morning to apologize and discover what I missed.

Note to self: doh!

Did you? Oh well... I probably wasn't awake enough to register it (considering when we normally bump into each other, that's quite likely). I have occasionally looked at our phone (which has a built in answerphone that I don't know how to use) and have never seen anything flashing or heard anything bleeping. If it's a BT type thing, then it's picking it up before the physical thing in our hallway, which is REALLY irritating.

i believe the thing in your hallway isn't actually plugged in is it? And the answerphone is on the phone i believe...

Well ross, at least you know the agencies didn't completely forget you. Not that that is any consolation :(

I'm referring to the base unit for the cordless phones... I understood both of my answerphones, but richard wanted cordless, and without buying another microfilter we can't plug anything else in ('cause of the ADSL). The base unit has an answerphone on it that I've looked at occasionally and decided that I'd need instructions to fathom it out - and we don't have any. But since it's never beeped or flashed in my general direction I've assumed it's either not got any messages or it's not turned on, so just ignored it.
