Well, I guess I must just be a freak

Went to London for day of Civil Service Faststream tests. Had to get up at an ungodly hour, struggle through rush hour and pay an extortionate fee (goddamn peak prices I am unaccustomed to). Then sat through the trickiest, highest time-pressure, most bastard hard exams I've ever had the misfortune to take.

Quite enjoyed myself. No, really! Once the adrenaline kicked in and I decided that I didn't give a shit one way or the other, I found the experience quite stimulating and was left, after the whole hideous ordeal, with a pleasant buzz.

Don't think I actually did all that well, but I did try.

Now what?

Since you don't care one way or the other you'll probably pass!

Yeah... unless you just jinxed me.

How are you?

Convalescing from a rather nasty cold. Mum and Dad on another holiday: I wish I was a poor teacher!

Make comments like that near my mum and she'd probably tear your head off.

Yeah... sadly the feeling hasn't persisted. I'm sure a sense of dread and chest-crushing anxiety will grow to replace it.

I can totally relate, you can kinda let your mind starve without really realising it and then it's only when something that comes along and really feeds it that you realised how ravenous it is . . . unless you've starved it for too long and it's died of course; glad you're still hungry. I'll shut up with this analogy now.

Brain is replete now. No more food for a while please... too much effort.
